To receive scholarships from the Diocese of Sioux City, Gehlen Catholic, or local Parish, the TADS application is REQUIRED. The TADS application will require parents to ONLY upload their 2025 Federal Tax Return.

Diocesan Monsignor Lafferty Tuition Foundation (MLTF; Grades TK-12): Funded by MLTF contributions, these scholarships are awarded to families who meet the income eligibility requirements governed by the State of Iowa. MLTF eligibility is based on Line 15 of the Federal 1040 (Federal Taxable Income).
MLTF INCOME GUIDELINES:Household Size Maximum Income 1 $63,840 2 $86,560 3 $109,280 4 $132,000 5 $154,720 6 $177,440 7 $200,160 8 $222,880 for each additional person, add $22,720 2. Diocesan Catherine Birzle Education Trust (Grades 9-12): Funded through a trust, high school students are eligible to apply. Awards will be given to students who do not qualify for a MLTF scholarship.
3. Gehlen Catholic Local Scholarship (Grades TK-12): Funded through multiple family scholarships in the Gehlen Catholic Endowment Fund, including Eva Waite Tuition Foundation, Ruden Scholarship, Elizabeth & Herman Freking Scholarship, and angel donors.4. Parish Awards: Funded through local church parishes.Additional Assistance:
- Jaybird Tuition Reduction (TK-12): $1,000 awarded to each student for their annual fundraising efforts.
- DHS Daycare (PreK; full day): Income-based application available through the Iowa Department of Human Services website by clicking here.
- United Way (PreK): Income-based scholarship. If the grant is awarded, applications are distributed by the school to PreK families. Funding varies by year.
- Reduced Bussing (TK-12): Income-based state funding.
- USDA Federal (Free and Reduced) Lunch Program: Application available in summer.
